In the course of the agreement which was announced first at VentureBeat, Proletariat will WOTLK Gold become an official Blizzard studio. Additionally, its 100 developers will contribute to WoW's ongoing expansion. WoW and the Dragonflight expansion set to come release this year. Proletariat's newest game, Spellbreak, is shutting down.

This is just the latest expansion for Blizzard it's been a while since the long-running Activision studio Vicarious Visions was recently folded into Blizzard to contribute to that World of Warcraft franchise.

The terms of Blizzard's agreement with Proletariat aren't public, but it's the company's largest buyout since the company bought Swinging Ape in 2005.

John Hight, the general manager of World of Warcraft at Blizzard announced that the deal to purchase Proletariat will assist Blizzard keep up with the demands of the WoW player base.

"As you're likely to know that the people in World of Warcraft have a voracious appetite for content," Hight said. "And what we've seen during the last year is that we're required to increase both the volume of content that we're able to produce, as well as the frequency with cheap WOW WOTLK Classic Gold which we're providing it to that our users."
