KBS 2TV 예능프로그램 [[청춘 FC : 헝그리 일레븐]] 참가자들과 K리그 챌린지 올스타팀과의 맞대결이 10월 14일 성사된다는 기사가 보도된다. 청춘 FC 참가자들의 열정과 방송의 의도는 분명 좋은 취지에서 시작된 것이나, 매 경기마다 순위가 요동치는 승격전쟁을 펼치는 중에 친선경기를 진행해야 하냐는 비판의 목소리가 거세어졌다. K리그 챌린지 6개 구단의 서포터즈들은 리그 중 친선경기를 반대한다는 내용과 더불어, 한국프로축구연맹에게 이번 경기 개최의 승낙 과정의 공개, K리그 챌린지의 위상에 대한 비전 제시를, KBS에게는 시즌 중인 K리그 챌린지에 부담을 주는 경기를 취소하고, 국내 축구 발전에 바람직한 방법으로 접근하라는 성명서를 발표하기에 이르렀다. 하지만 결국 이러한 논란과 함께 친선경기는 진행되었다.
